Lovely walk from Many Beach

It was really a nice walk from Manly and Shelly Beach is not a busy. It's great because it is smaller and more peaceful and fun for the kids to look around the rock pool.

We love Shelly Beach. Also known as Cabbage Tree Bay, it is a marine nature reserve. Best accessible via walking from the south end of Manly. It looks far at first but the walking track (footpath) has such beautiful views, you reach Shelly Beach before you know it. The kids love walking there, particularly at sunset. We have snorkeled there... More

This is a little beach at the south end of the main beach which is a 15 min walk from the Corso. It is protected from the wind and the waves, so that the water is calm. It has a quite good restaurant, a kiosk and not much else. I consider it a better place to swim and relax because... More

If you come to Manly, get off the ferry and march down the Corso to the world famous Manly Beach, you will have a great time. It's an awesome active place. But if you take the time to spend a day or two in Manly...or a week if you're wise, stroll over to nearby Shelly Beach. It's small, sheltered, the... More

It is a 15 minutes walk from Manly Beach, beautiful scenery, nice tropical plants and flowers. The water can be cold since it is at the point further into the ocean.

A beautiful area of sydney, attracts many snorkels and scuba divers. On a nice weekend, the beach is covered with people, making the traffic terrible, with little parking options. Be aware rangers are about waiting to fine you if you exceed the 2 hour parking limit around the area. The beach itself is calm, but hidden rocks in the water... More

If you are seeking a sheltered beach that is easily accessed with great views over the iconic manly beach this is for you. You can drive then and park on the heads but parking is limited. Get there early. The other option is walking around from manly. The area is a marine reserve so bring a snorkel and goggles as... More

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
