Overview

Taking a ferry directly from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo, located in the suburb of Mosman, is the first unexpected joy of visiting the animal park. Once there, the leisurely trails and opportunity to see some of Australia's distinct wildlife become apparent, as does the striking view of the Harbour Bridge from the seating at the aerial bird show. Advance booking can give you the chance to see koalas up close, or stay overnight and 'camp' in the zoo.

We came across to the zoo with a captain cook ferry pass, which included the cable car to the top entrance. Had to carry the pram up a fair amount of stairs to get to the cable car entry. We went on a day that...More

A small zoo with some interesting animals, especially the Australian animals. The epic encounter must be the koala experience where you get close to the bears but not touching them. Book your time slot for this. Pleasant day, but food options limited in the park.

I hadn't been to the zoo in 20 years, I loved it back then and it's even better now. We did the owl and giraffe experience, they were both amazing, don't miss the bird show, or the monkey walk through. We were there for about...More

Although small compared with others around the world there is a great selection of Australian animals. You can get pretty close to the enclosures and it was not overly busy when we were there. Worth a visit, particularly if you have children.

Taronga Zoo is a must visit while in Sydney. The layout of the zoo is lovely and easy to walk around. We were lucky to see all the animals out feeding and playing and they certainly put on a display for us. The chimpanzees put...More

You can interact and even feed the Koalas at Wild Life Sydney for an additional price, I think it's around $20-50. It's at Darling Harbour so it's very accessible from CBD.

Yes. And if you do the behind the scenes tour with a zookeeper they will wake them up. They are smaller than you think!
