Unexpected surprise
Jan. 2021 • Couples
We visited the TarraWarra Art Museum today and it was awesome. Only $10 per person to enter and the exhibited works were excellent, both confronting and thought provoking. The Art museum is adjacent to the TarraWarra Estate Cellar Door which wasn’t obvious when looking up the places. After finishing in the art gallery we grabbed a coffee and admired the scenery outside which is stunning. Well worth the visit.

Great Place to visit
Feb. 2020
Set in beautiful surrounds perched on the top of the rise. Just had a bottle of white and some tasty snacks from the food truck parked near the alfresco area (only casual food available other
than the restaurant)
Didn't visit the gallery as we were content to sit and take in the scenery on a beautiful 30 degree sunny day

Food is excellent
Jan. 2020 • Solo
Even on a rainy day it was worth a visit. Exhibition was expansive.
The food and wine at the restaurant were both excellent.
Special mention to the sandalwood nuts in the zucchini entree and the frozen ruby grapefruit jewels in the dessert. Yum.

Great art and wine
Jan. 2020 • Couples
Beautiful art and museum. Did the wine tasting and ended up buying big. Some nice drops. Make sure you check out the building as you leave on the right. Go inside and take the lift! Didn’t end up eating but menu looked good.

Art in a lovely setting
Dec. 2019
A beautiful setting for a museum of art. It is set in the TarraWarra vineyard area, which is a working vineyard. There are also large outdoor art installations on the grounds.

The exhibition we saw was The Art of Robert Klippel. It was well presented and thoughtful. There was a wide range of his pieces across many years of his life. Accompanying this was quality merchandise.

You can combine a visit to the museum with wine tasting, a light meal or a more formal meal in the vineyard restaurant.

Exceptional exhibition
Dec. 2019 • Solo
Exceptional exhibition at Tarrawarra Museum of Art. They say that Robert Keppel is one of Australia’s greatest artists. This exhibition of his sculptures (metal, wood and sketches etc), is very impressive. I knew very little about this mans art before this exhibition and I wonder why I hadn’t really heard about his sculpture before? Oh you must view the video to get an understanding of Robert and his life and Art form.

Amazing architecture
Nov. 2019
The architecture and the art (Klippel) were world class. Looking out the windows from the gallery was art just itself. The gift shop has some of the best items I've seen anywhere. A very pleasant visit and on the same property of a beautiful winery in another architecturally significant underground building. The restaurant menu looked tremendous. Wish we had been hungry at the time!

Archibald exhibition
Nov. 2019
This is a great museum though the Archibald exhibition felt cramped. Not sure if this explained why many of this year's portraits were underwhelming.

Whatever the exhibition it will be great
Nov. 2019
I always love an excursion to TarraWarra Museum of Art. The setting is wonderful and the spaces are such that they enhance whatever the current exhibition is. I loved seeing the Archibald here as some of the pieces are quite large and it needs a space like this to give them the space they need. Our time there was made even better by lunch in the restaurant. Just as good as the art. Locally soy food can’t be beaten.
