Had a fabulous weekend walking on the Warburton rail trail (total 40km, so 20km per day). On Saturday morning we caught the train to Lilydale and then the bus to Woori Yallock (they go hourly on weekends and you just use your myki). Woori Yallock...More

We walked from Mt Evelyn to Seville and back again today. A fresh start made for a brisk pace, made easy by the gentle down hill grade of the path. Wandering through trees and pastures, past hot houses and creeks, it is a really easy...More

Lovely every time - don't bother with the cafe in Mount Evelyn though, called 'Happy Trails' it's very slow service and very mediocre food - trying to be rustic but only achieving amateur.

A nice rail trail with many beautiful sights and quaint cafes along the way. It is much easier to cover a long distance riding a pushbike, but on a pleasant day walking is wonderful. Would recommend.

Hired a couple of e-bikes and started in Warburton. Worth stopping for a bite at the Cog cafe but we were running a bit late so just headed straight out. The ride is pretty flat even for normal bikes, easy to navigate and enjoyed by...More

This is a great way to exercise & see the area. The residents are so lucky to have this bike & walking trail. And it is well used by walkers, runners & cyclists.

We thought this was a really pleasant ride with enough water stations, a few toilet stops and cafes en route to refuel. We started in Lilydale and then had a lovely lunch in the cute Cog cafe in Warburton before making the return trip. We...More

Hello, I am going to do this trail in the upcoming long weekend and am wondering, because I've never been or even seen it, how hard would it be to pull a trailer with my dog in it plus camping gear? I am of moderate fitness, I ride around 20ks a day to work and back and on the weekends I ride too but I've never actually ridden with a trailer but it may be my only option as I can't get anyone to look after my dog so I can go away for the weekend! Thanks everyone in advance.

Track is wide so towing a bike trailer shoud be fine. There are some steeper hills at the lilydale end that yu may have to push a bike with trailer.

Are there any interesting places to stop along the trail such as wineries without having to go too far off the track?
