The spectacular 40-minute trip on the Queenscliff Sorrento Ferry Service...

The spectacular 40-minute trip on the Queenscliff Sorrento Ferry Service links Melbourne’s most magnificent coastal regions: the Bellarine Peninsula and Mornington Peninsula. Both destinations have a vast number of attractions to explore. Then, from Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, it’s a leisurely 2-hour scenic drive to Phillip Island and the famous Penguin Parade. From Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula, you’re very close to the glorious Great Ocean Road.Stroll on board as a passenger or bring your car – it’s the fast and environmentally friendly alternative to the drive of more than 200 km through the city from one peninsula to the other. All weather, hourly crossings, 7 Days…Two specially designed all-weather 60-metre ferries depart from both destinations on the hour, every hour, 7am to 6pm daily. Enjoy easy drive on/drive off facilities, spacious comfortable lounges with full-length windows, a tempting cafe and plenty of deck space. There are ever-changing sights – watch out for dolphins, whales in winter and enormous ships as you breathe incredibly fresh air.Arriving at Sorrento, you’ll have a perfect view of multi-million dollar mansions sitting atop cliffs, tiny coves filled with boats, the beautiful foreshore and old limestone buildings.Queenscliff is dominated by the fascinating 1860s Fort Queenscliff, but has many gracious old buildings including grand historic hotels and guesthouses. The specially designed all weather ferries have easy drive on/drive off facilities, no turning required.Easy and convenient.

Did both the Sorrento to Queenscliff and Queenscliff to Sorrento journeys to and from a road trip from Rosebud-Warrnambool and they were fantastic. Booked on line, very simple, special access requested for my friend and we were placed right beside the lifts each time. The experience prior to boarding and whilst sailing was excellent. Enjoyed good quality food and beverage... More

Have travelled: with car as driver, with car as passenger and as foot passenger. Gets me/us across the bay in a relaxed fashion and allows for a coffee, read of the newspaper or time relax and admire the view. Painless embark and disembark at Queenscliff and Sorrento. Be warned: in peak times, ensure you arrive at the terminal in plenty... More

I love this trip over the water to the 'other side'. Ferry is comfortable and relaxing. Who knows when you will see a dolphin or two?

Why not leave your car and take the children for a trip across the bay. An inexpensive holiday treat that fills in a few hours. For those travelling by car it it is much more pleasant on the ferry than battling the Melbourne traffic. And as an added extra they serve great coffee ! A very relaxing journey and a... More

Thank you for you're great review. So glad the children got to experience the ferry with a play area, colouring corner and plenty of deck space to check out the views and spot for dolphins. Not sure if you were able to catch one of the free school holiday activities. Maybe next time. Hope to see you back onboard soon.... More

We wanted to cross over to the other side, bypassing the horrors of Melbourne city traffic. The Seaside Ferry was ideal. It's quick. It's cheap. It's easy. AND there's a lift for those of us who find navigating steep flights of stairs too hard. A free newspaper on booking in made the trip pass quickly. He read the paper. I... More

It is one of the things you must do if you are down this way. Take your car or just yourselves, the ferries go on the hour. It isn't cheap, but a great way to travel versus taking the trip around the bay. Stunning views across the entire trip, well worth doing at least once.

Thank you for your great review. Crossing the bay is a great alternative to the road trip around. It is hard to beat the stunning views, fresh air and the odd dolphin or two! Enjoy a coffee or wine from behind full length windows or stroll the observation decks. Hope to see you onboard again soon. Warm regards, Leanne More

First ferry one felt less welcome- announcements very terse. Return trip was a different story. Convenient, efficient, and very pleasant way to cross Port Philip Bay.
