The inside of the building is beautiful! It takes you away to the antebellum days with the old light fixtures and other things inside the building. Plus this is the only state capital in the whole country that has a tomb of a president and his wife on the grounds.

Although it was closed to the public on a saturday we were still able to enjoy walking around the building. Being up on a hill you can see lots of different parts of Nashville. While there take a walk over to the state library and archives. Not much to see at first but we found some books about our city... More

Aside from all the history the pure aesthetics of the architecture is beautiful and powerful. Inside and out. Check out the view from the Bicentennial State park by the Nashville Farmer's Market. While there wait for the Carrilon to ring out in all their glory!

Good nice looking building on the hill. James Polk is buried right next to the Capital. There is a memorial for Andrew Jackson there as well.

Great building for a State Capitol sitting high up over looking the city. Great statue sitting in front of it. Well worth climbing the steps to look at and admire the view of the city.

Nashville is unusual for a downtown area in that you can get around in an automobile without too much trouble. It is a beautiful place to visit with many things and sites to visit. You also have a very large assortment of excellent restautants to visit.

While not as large or grand as some of the other state capitols we have visited, the Tennessee State Capitol is nonetheless beautiful and unique. (Unfortunately there was only one tour guide on duty at a time, and he/she were scheduled to take a group of students on a tour while we were there, so we had to do the... More

The Tennessee state capital is a pretty nice building and it photographs nicely. I actually thought it would be a lot bigger and grander though. They have a couple of statues in the surrounding areas and I really like the steps and that it sits upon a hill. They could use some more landscaping work to beautify the grounds. I... More

Passed by on our hop-off half day tour of Nashville in June 2011. Roman style of architecture. There is a really large lawn that sprawls just like green carpet in behind the building.
