I LOVE this library! It is beautiful inside and out. I spent many hours studying here as a child before my father finally consented to purchase internet (the early 2000s....he was SO late to the game!). The staff is wonderful and the selection is too....More

The Civil Rights Room at the Nashville Public Library is a beautiful exhibit exploring the work done in Nashville in 1960 for the lunch counter protests for desegregation. The room is set up with a "lunch counter" at the center as a place for study...More

Do not miss this. It is a small room, but contains so much history. There are lots of books about the civil rights movement, videos to choose from, and a "lunch counter" you need to see.

I loved all the marble and ornate iron work. It had a very thorough periodical section and beautiful cheery tables and chairs to read at.

The Nashville Public Library reminded me a bit of the New York Public Library. Would you believe they have a climbing wall in the children’s section among other things?!

We come here as often as we can with the kids. It’s beautiful first, the huge Libby, the marble, the double staircase, the wide hallways, the balcony.....And then there’s the kids room - puppet theaters, climbing walls, city scapes, art, computers, games, puzzles, scooters ....The...More

Absolutely beautiful library that is so much more than a library. We primarily go for the kids activities--story time and the related fun in the kids department--and always end up hanging around taking in the sights around the building. The story time is so much...More
