The museum is terrific. The admission price is reasonable. It tells the history of Oak Ridge and the surrounding area. Additionally, they offer special programs and activities for children. Many of the exhibits are interactive in nature.

We live in Knoxville and ended up buying a family membership because we visited so often. It has a lot of fun things for small kids. I would recommend that anyone with small children visit this place. It has small play areas such as a small two story play house that kids can pretend to live in. A space area... More

I came with my mom (65) my sister (12) and daughter (6). My age is 49 and we all enjoyed it here alot. The antique toys and the variety of other displays were all very interesting and some were interactive. I look forward to coming again to see all the things I missed in the Children's excited rush to see... More

The Oak Ridge Children's Museum is an excellent place to spend a couple or three hours on a rainy, cold or hot Saturday. It provides hands on displays for children that relates the history of the area as well as that of other locales. The bird sanctuary room was a favorite for our 5-year old as was the river travel... I have been to the Children's Museum many times.... first with my Kids... now my Grandkids. It is always beautifully done and interesting on more than one level. The kids enjoy it for the fun, the adults enjoy it for the History and Stories of life in and around Oak Ridge.

I have been to the Museum with my kids and with school groups. Love when they have special days and it is also a great place to book a birthday party for young kids. With school group (2-3rd) it is also great to ask for tours or special projects.

We love the children's museum. We actually had our son's last birthday there. They were so accommodating and helpful. The kids always love it. For a hands on museum, the Children's Museum is top.

I visited with my 1 year old son. We were able to find parts of the museum that he really enjoyed. He liked the boat, the trains, and the space room. The weather was not the greatest, so we didn't get to play on the playground. I will probably go back when he is older, so I can read more... More

This place was huge. I honestly thought we were never going to find the end. Each room had a different theme with new things to learn. Lots to read and learn. Teen siblings were bored after about an hour. 5 year old wanted to stay all day. I found some of the exhibits very interesting. Will go back without the... More

This museum is located in what was an elementary school that was built during the Manhattan Project days. It's a great place to take a group of elementary-aged children or your own children. There's everything from an Appalachian-living exhibit, to a life-size doll house, to model trains.
