This place is just cool... first the old history with the turret spring house and old creepy cotton mill...but then there is the whole "water from the TVA reservoir spilling into a cave system on the other side of the ridge and emerging as full size streams along the bluffs above the Caney Fork River" storyline...it's amazing to see and... I realize the weather can't be controlled, but I wish there had been water in the falls. The paths seemingly disappear on a few of the trails (the more difficult ones) but that doesn't bother me at all! I wish there were more trails closer together; I felt like we had to drive a lot from place to place. Maybe... More

I'm amazed that Tennessee offers things like this for free. This is such a beautiful area and you can see several cool things in a fairly small area. There's a dam, an old cotton mill, a really rocky river bed, some rapids, and this amazing waterfall that flows out of the side of a mountain. It is both beautiful and... More

We have been to Rock Island several times. There are nice overlooks for those unable to do the strenuous hikes. If you're up for it, like we are, do the hard hikes. you can climb Great Falls and go tot the top. Some cliff jump from here into the large, deep gorge. This place is magical, with water everywhere. Twin... More

You have to see Rock Island! The campground for RVs is VERY nice. Recently updated. The beach is nice, I have not stayed there in the summer, so I don't know how the swimming is. Beautiful scenery, nice hiking, and friendly park rangers! Lady in the office wasn't very talkative, so we talked to the rangers. Bathhouse is nice, but... More

We rented one of the cabins that allowed dogs. The cabin was very nice and spacious. We had 6 people. The waterfalls all are a short drive from the park. I recommend visiting all of them. The is a sandy beach by the river where you can swim and fish. We also took a day to visit the caverns and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our hike to the Twin Falls and along the paths around and above the falls. These falls are not rain dependent, so were not affected by the drought. We plan to visit again this time next year.

My husband, me and my twin 9 year old boys and our puppy rented one of the 10 cabins at the park in October for a weekend. The cabin was really nice and big. The website does not give a good description of the cabins so I am going to leave a bit more info about them in case that... More

If you like waterfalls this is a nice place to stop off on a journey anywhere in the local vicinity, we were on our way to Nashville. We took the steps down to the falls area and have to say they are a little, treacherous in both directions....don't wear new shoes down, the rocks are seeping water and consequently in... More

Beautiful waterfall views, nice trails; not as crowded as Fall Creek Falls, so more enjoyable for us.
