It's easy to drive right by the Indian Mound and not even notice it. But if you're visiting the area, you may find this bit of history worth stopping for.

If you have ever been to an actual indian mound, say like in Cahokia, IL then you will be VERY disappointed in this "mound". Not much there but a sign and a little bump maybe 5 feet high in the Shoney's parking lot. Nothing to see. There is some nice landscaping near by and a nice walking trail that goes... More

The McMahan Indian Mound is located in Sevierville, TN on highway 441 (Forks of the River Parkway) next the Landmark INN and across the street from the Burger King.
