This overlook is unsurpassed in its beauty of the Tennessee river gorge. Little known fact is there is a small well marked trail that goes down to a lake. Great to swim in . Watch for weather, its hard to clime back through the muddy trail. Great experience.

Not far outside of Chattanooga and an easy drive up the mountain. Beautiful view at the top. Not touristy at all; very quiet and peaceful. A steep hike with several trails if you are so inclined. Restrooms available. Good photo spot and place to enjoy nature. We stopped here on our way out of town and were very glad we... More

Great scenery, with an interesting Civil War backstory. It's worth the hike down the trail a mile or so. Although it can be quite technical, the view is even better below. If not able the top is still a great place to tie up a hammock, and relax. Or have a picnic under the shaded tables that's accessible.

We had already been to Lookout Mountain, so we didn't plan on this...but as we drove around we stumbled upon Signal Point. Beautiful view of the valley...our favorite.

A great way to see out into the valley and pretend you were one of the mountain people who originally settled Signal Mountain. Take the W up and the regular (not as steep) road down. Great walk out onto the brow.

The Signal Point Reservation is one of the more remote sections of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. The facilities there include a moderate-sized parking lot, a restroom building that is often not open, a trail leading to a pavilion, and two rather-worn wayside exhibits. So, for history buffs dedicated to learning the story of the campaigns for Chattanooga, I'm... More

This was my first hike in this area and you get out of the parking area with your first amazing view. Continuing down the very steep steps and the rocky path down to the swining bridge where it forks to several trails. Chose to climb up to Edwards Point and honestly, I found it a little to strenous up the... More

I have been a Chattanooga resident for about ten years and still haven't taken in all that it has to offer. So this past week when I had a few days off, I decided I would take some time and visit some of the attractions I have read and heard about. Signal Point on Signal Mountain was one of the... More

Hike should have included a waterfall, however, take caution! Steep slopes lead down to the waterfall and as a result, we were not up for the danger. You are still in for an excellent view even if you don't make it to the waterfall. Great morning hike over rocks and hilly terrain. Would not recommend for smaller children (under age... More
