Great show, food is excellent too. Food was served in an old church building. A basically one man live show in period costumes and sets on the subject of the Civil War from the southern perspective. Very well done. Gift shop and conversation with the fellow who puts on the show was a nice touch. Food was great. Service was... More

We enjoyed everything about our experience at Buttonwillow. Our group of 13 ranged in age from 7 to 70, and it was enjoyed by all. The food was true Southern style and delicious. The show was very informative and entertaining. We laughed and were truly educated on life during Civil War times. We also gained knowledge of both the confederate... More

Our USS Hank reunion group dined at this venue for the first time. Dinner consisted of chicken breast (huge), stuffing, carrots and green beans followed by blackberry cobbler. Everything was delicious. Plenty of food and drinks during the evening. The civil war presentation, while very interesting, I believe could have been a little shorter. Overall, the evening was a pleasant... More

After arriving we were greeted with a big welcome. Excellent seating and a wonderful meal. The best chicken that I have eaten ever. Plenty of good, well prepared food. The presentation was lively, informative and wonderfully presented. Couldn't ask for better presentation by two people working together to open the eyes of people to true History!

My husband and I have made several visits to Buttonwillow Dinner Theatre in Whitwell, TN. We have learned more about the history of The War Between the States or Civil War (whichever you prefer to call it) than we ever thought possible. To learn of the diversity of flags that were used by the Confederacy was eye opening. The food... More

We have visited Buttonwillow several times, and each visit is thoroughly enjoyed! Authentic meal of the period. Delicious and plentiful. The theatre production is very educational and well researched for authenticity of facts. I have absorbed more Civil War history here than I did during my years of formal education. I always scratch my head in wonder as to how... More

This is my 5th time to travel to Buttonwillow and bring a group. The food cooked from recipes of Varina Davis was Wonderful. The play is entertaining and well researched. I loved the audience participation. I went from belly laughing to having tears in my eyes at the end. It is so refreshing to find a place that knows and... More

Before you attend you should be aware of the program and its purpose. It is basically a two man show, not really a play, providing a platform to present the "Lost Cause" narrative of the civil war.He cleverly costumes himself as a union officer to present his defense of the confederacy. He also utilizes true facts but neglects to present all... More

Rest assured that our research is first source and verifiable. This visitor heard what they came prepared to hear, and not what was revealed. Some of our more progressive customers want no part in hearing the other side of this tragic American affair. The Confederacy has been vilified and maligned by history, members of our educational system, PBS, and our... More

This visit was far better than anticipated. Food was great and plenty to eat. Gift shop was very interesting. The performance was very informative and hilarious. I loved the way the audience as allowed and encouraged to interact. Everyone should go see this. I will be back. Oh, take your kids. They will learn far more accurate history in a... More
