Lots of choices of eateries. I like Anitas and Gracie's the most. Lovely shops and a nice walk by the Colorado river.

Main street has a beautiful look, but appears to offer more night life than window shopping, quaint stores, arts and crafts. There were a plethora of bars/eateries with stages and sound systems for after-sundown live music, but not much is gained in the day time...More

Main street may be short, but it packs a big punch of scenery, small shops, museum, and nice restaurants. Near by is a 150 year old church, the library, a nice park along the Colorado River and great music on the weekends. We walked this area...More

Visited the courthouse and met a very friendly lady in the clerks office. Loved all the pictures on the walls. I wish I had been there during Christmas. She told me that they put magnets on the ornaments and then toss them onto the ceiling...More

Loved our visit to Bastrop. Lots of little stores to browse. Visitors center and museum are a must visit and conveniently located on Main Street. Calvary Episcopal Church is open and houses beautiful stained glass windows.

I love this town. Everything is so close that you can walk anywhere you need to go. From restaurant to going to the bank everything is close.

There are a good number of highly rated restaurants. There were quite a few empty buildings when we were there and one shop we were in said they were moving. Austin is expanding around Bastrop making it difficult for the small shops to compete.

Nice area, very clean with shops full of friendly people. There is also some interesting history to be found if you are into that. Most of Bastrop has a big city feel but this area has been well preserved and is a great reminder how...More

Most of the buildings are historical. The street is tree lined and shady. There are chairs here and there if one needs to sit down to relax. The employees in the stores are so friendly and accommodating. Just a friendly, pretty small town.

Friendly small town with several cute 'ladies' shops. We spent about an hour walking first down one side of the street and then back up the other side. Parking was pretty easy especially on a weekday.

I know some of the restaurants are open on Sunday but may close late afternoon. Download the app for Bastrop it has a lot of great information and hours of operation.
