Lovely hiking with our dog
Nov. 2020 • Couples
The woodland and creek trails were beautiful and the creek was covered with a blanket of cypress fronds. Plenty of shade and delightful picnic area.

Nice trails and beautiful creek
Nov. 2020 • Solo
I arrived in the late morning and took a long stroll through the grasslands, which are very nice and calming, good to see a great attempt to keep some of the grasslands of TX intact. I almost missed the Cibolo Creek which is unique and beautiful; I walked along it (not easy to do if you find it difficult to walk) for a while and thought the whole creek area was beautiful. This is a very nice, peaceful place.

Relaxing environment
Sep. 2020
We recently visited here as part of a community activity and had not been here in a while. They have kept this place in nice condition and added more since the last time we visited. There was plenty of parking and the area is nicely spread out for social distancing with several areas to enjoy. The picnic area is nicely shaded and close to the visitor center which had maps of the four trails. The trails are 1/2 mile to 1/3 miles in length with some a little more challenging along the creeks then others that are mulch type trails. The Marshland Trail is handicap-accessible. There is a pavilion, observation deck and restrooms. There is no entrance fee but donations are accepted. Bicycles are not allowed on the trails. It was nice and breezy the afternoon we visited. Great creek exploration with cypress trees and wildlife.

Nature Park In The Middle Of Town
Aug. 2020
My reason for going to Boerne today was to explore the Cibolo Nature Center. It is part of the City Park system and is really quite nice. Of course, it probably would have been a lot more comfortable had the temperature not been in the 90s. There is plenty of shade on some of the paths and there is even a stream to cool your feet in if you so desire. There are plenty of places to sit down, places for kids to play, and tables throughout for a picnic. I imagine that it is beautiful in the Spring when everything isn’t so dried out from the heat. The park is free so you can’t complain about the cost. This is a great place to bring the family and it is dog friendly as long as Fido is on a leash.

Great trails
Jan. 2020
My husband, a friend and I went to the Cibolo Nature Center on a Sunday in January. We love hiking the short trails (3 miles total) in the woods, along Cibolo Creek, in the prairie and on the boardwalk in the marsh area. On this trip, the boardwalk was closed due to maintenance. There are many Cypress trees along the creek. The center has a visitor and gift shop as well. There is no charge except for special events. We will be back.

Horrible Signage
Jan. 2020
We wanted to make a loop out of some of the trails at the center. We started off behind the nature center, to the left. Could not find the Cypress Trail. Asked a worker and he said, just bear to the right. That didn't work out and we ended up having to backtrack. We didn't see any signs to help us figure out where we were. How hard is it to put up signs where there are multiple trails coming together? The map was nice, but without signs it wasn't much help. Didn't see any wildlife or birds while we were there and the marsh trail was blocked off. It would probably be better in the Spring.

A beautiful oasis in town
Sep. 2019
This was a lovely little spot abutting Cibolo Creek, on the outskirts of town. If you wanted you could walk all the way into town. The nature center itself was closed when I visited, but I really enjoyed wandering the trails and being in nature. You can walk along the creek just about anywhere in town, but this has a more secluded and natural feel, and there's an interesting marsh boardwalk trail in addition to trails to the creek and beyond, and all around the nature center.

Family time

Leisurely walk the trails. Jump in the creek or "accidentally" fall in. Great educational displays. Kids enjoyed the visit.

Nice spot
Aug. 2019 • Family
Great spot to go for a walk. If you're handicapped, the hike along the creek is not do able. Enjoy a short stroll on a nice day. Remember bug spray.
