I hate to see the city getting ready to move out of this building, I hope they put it to a great public use. I pay me bill and get permits here and I love this old building. Going to miss going here alot!

Worth a visit

If you are in Boerne and walking down Main Street, take a side trip one block over to the new and old courthouse and old jail. While i wouldn't drive to Boerne just to see these things, they are worth visiting if you are there. The old courthouse is still used by the county (not as a courthouse) so there are no tours inside. The outside of the old courthouse and jail are still interesting to walk around and read the signage.

Kendall County Courthouse and Jail

Boerne has lots of historic buildings. The beautiful historic limestone block courthouse was built as one story in 1870. A second story was added in 1886. In 1909, the front façade as added. The historic courthouse was in service until 1998. A 1887 limestone jail house is next door. It would have been nice to tour the interior of the 2 buildings but it was nice to take a slow 10 minute walk around the buildings.
