This is a nice local museum. Nice if you have lots of time and want to go to "one more site" while in Brenham. Not a lot to it, but we enjoyed it.

You will not find an extensive collection of items to rival heritage museums in larger cities. Then again, that isn't why you are visiting a small town. Take the time to talk to the curators and the people in the museum. Their stories about the...More

The museum is what you might expect in a small town like Brenham. Housed in a former post office, it houses local history and artifacts.

If you have some spare time while visiting Washington County, Texas, drop in at the Brenham Heritage Museum, located in the old Post Office building. While I still consider this museum a work in progress, it does provide the visitor with information about early life...More

The Museum curator was extremely helpful and well informed about the founding families of Brenham. The exhibits were displayed well and we found them not only interesting but well laid out to understand the timeline of life in Brenham

Nothing out of the ordinary. Mostly just told the local history of a small town. We had just missed a re-enactment of a gun battle.

The museum gives visitors a lot to learn about Brenham and Texas history thereof, stuff I hadn't known about before (and I'm a native Texan!). The Giddings brothers (Brenham's founders)were quite remarkable and the museum gives you great information on them.

This small, museum is housed in the old Brenham Post Office building. The one staff person on duty gave us an interesting explanation of the system used at the time, with the Post Master “spying” on workers from an overhead, enclosed walkway. She was also...More

A very nice museum with many local and quircky artifacts. Staff is helpful and informative. You find that Brenham was on the cutting edge on many events and circumstances--Juneteenth, public water systems, cotton, etc.
