Gorgeous lake!

This is a gorgeous lake! Kayaking, canoeing..no swimming! Again, this is not a swimming lake! Its a peaceful, quiet lake. :-)

Love going there in Spring, summer or winter...fun place to be by the water with a picnic, or go for a run or a walk or fly a kite!

One of my favorite places in Dallas; the scenery is beautiful, there's easy access to the water, plenty of picnic spots, great places to walk, toss a blanket on the ground to sit and watch nature or people, or (seasonally) rent a kayak or SUP and get out on the lake. I lived a couple of miles from the lake... More

Beautiful urban lake to the East of downtown Dallas. Beautiful to walk around, bike, picnic or just enjoy the views.

The trails are well maintained and easy to navigate. There are pretty views and lots of people. You can by mansions, a peaceful lake, its right in the middle of the city.

I have been utilizing this iconic area for a long time now. The transformation from the sixties to now has been incredible. Excellent for cycling, and evening walk, a picnic or photography. Local high-school so use it for crew practice. A great family environment. The dog park was just recently improved. It is very busy on the weekends. The city... More

If you're an outdoors person, this is probably the closest you'll get in the area sadly. That said, while it is not particularly scenic, it's still a great place for an evening stroll/run/cycle. It is pretty busy but feels pretty safe even at night. Had long and hearty conversations along the nice walking path paved along the perimeter of the... More

(rating 5 stars) I've been riding my bike here since i was a teenager. I'm almost 40 now. I don't even have the street bike. Just a raleigh hybrid. I ride the trails. Very pleasant and satisfying scenery. My favorite things about the trail around the lake are the birds' section. On the side closer to the arboretum, there's pelicans.... More

The paths are smooth, level and easy walking with strollers and or kids & dogs. The old boathouse is interesting. There are bathrooms conveniently located on the paths and porto-potties in the winter. The dog park was amazing; there are three separate enclosures; one for small (<30#). one for large (and or small) dogs and one on the lake where... More

I love riding my bike around the lake every Tuesday evening throughout the year! It's also a great place for a family stroll and picnic - bring your own food.
