Overview
More
Located on the grounds of Dallas's first city park, Dallas Heritage Village is the perfect place to step back in time. You can immerse yourself in the lives of Texans during the pioneer and Victorian eras. The buildings are all part of North Texas history and give you the opportunity to see and experience nineteenth century life. As you stroll through the grounds, you'll discover how crops were grown, how animals were cared for, how family life progressed, and how the sense of community developed for ordinary Texans over 100 years ago. The Village hosts multiple family events throughout the year and visitors can participate in daily activities led by History Hosts.

This is not universally publicised and is in a once up market but now less so neighbourhood. We walked it from down town and I could tell my wife was a smidge uncomfortable. Once there what an awesome collection of buildings moved and rebuilt here....More

After 20 years, I decided to revisit this little hidden gem tucked on the south end of Harwood and was surprised at how nice it looked and well-kept. First, be aware that Harwood runs through some run-down areas, but the village is gated and pretty...More

Thank you for visiting and for your review! We love being able to show people what life was like for those in Dallas in the late 1800 and early 1900s. We hope to see you again soon.

For those interested in how people lived just a hundred years ago, or slightly before, this is a good example. The park needs financial supporters though. Well worth the trip.More

My main reason for this trip was to see a re-enactment of a gunfight and this was the venue. What a great place - time has nearly stood still and this has a semi-haunted feel of the Old West. You can tour the village on...More

Nice collection of early structures from the Dallas area. Great walkable grounds and nice place to take a break while in Dallas. Use caution when traveling through the surrounding neighborhoods.

Thank you for your visit and review of Dallas Heritage Village. While the neighborhood around us is ever changing, things inside of the gates are secure and safe, but you are correct that caution in the neighborhood is advised. Thank you for stopping by!
