Awesome science museum --- avoid school days!
We explored the museum for 3+ hours - you start at the top and work your way down through the exhibits. Tons of hands on activities for kids + the science lab has fun 20 minute experiments. We used the Dallas CityPass. We made the mistake of going when the museum opened on a school day. There were 100s of kids on field trips - kinda chaotic.

Very big place and alot to do
We did the Dallas pass and this museum had so much to do. i have 3 kids ages 4,5, & 8. The kids didn't get to experience it all due to time and attention spans lol. We watched all the movies which I thought they would enjoy but it was a bit of a pain to go all the way through the museum then back to the entrance for our movie time slot each time as the movies times were spread out. The Oceans movie is the best one that they enjoyed, the dinosaurs was more for older kids. There were several floors of the museum and it was very busy when we went on a saturday morning.

Great value for family- time well spent
The exhibits are well-designed and offer lots of interesting information about each item. I like how the museum is organized into related topics on each floor. There are lots of hands-on things for the kids to do, however there were long lines for several of the more interesting ones even on a Tuesday morning. We will definitely return the next time we are in Dallas.

    Great Privately Owned Museum
For a private museum, it was great. For little children, they have a fun play area. Things to climb on & hands on exhibits. They have it set for exploring the top floor & moving down. Not as large as a public museum but extensive for what they had.

Lots of people and interactive exhibits
This is a very family friendly museum. It was crowded and had lots of children. It is very casual in terms of dress-code, as many exhibits are interactive. I'd suggest going at a time when there are smaller crowds to be able to enjoy the contents of the museum. The big crowds make the experience feel rushed.

    Fun for the entire family!
Such a fun environment for kids and adults! Our 5 year old had so much fun exploring and learning about all kinds of cool stuff. Everything was clean and staff was friendly. We spent about 3 hours in the museum but we didn’t do the Pixar exhibit. We will do that next trip!

    Great overview of science
This is a great museum that the Perot family brought to Dallas. Heard many great things and excited to visit on a trip to the Dallas area. This museum has a bit of every aspect of science. My impression was that it was an overview to intrigue young minds. I have been to several Natural Science Museums…. from Los Angeles to Houston. Those other museums have more exhibits than Perot. For the four floors and basement, Perot is on the smaller size. In addition to the entrance fee, the parking is across the street and is $10.

    Fun and interactive
We had a great time visiting this museum. There was lots of interactive displays. I think there is some thing for everyone to see here and it doesn’t take a lot of time to go through. We did go when there wasn’t a lot of people so we did have an advantage. I could see this being frustrating if The museum was packed with children

    Perfect for the whole family.
This was the best science museum I have ever been to. Perfect for anyone of any age. Parents can read and learn interesting things in each area as children play with interactive things that are in each area too. It’s seriously an incredible place and we can’t wait to return.

An all day experience, tons to do
I highly recommend this museum, and it's worth going out of your way if your family loves science. It's HUGE, several floors. It's a true science museum, with exhibits for adults, but tons of interactive, hands-on areas. You can easily keep children of all ages entertained. I'd say the star of the museum is probably the dinosaur and paleontology floor. You can watch actual paleontologists at work. The bottom floor has a childrens museum complete with water play. The current traveling exhibit focuses on tyrannosaurs and is excellent. It will be there for a year. There's a 3D theater. The cafe is a true restaurant with real meals, not just snacks. They have plenty of healthy options in a cooler near the register. It took us several hours to see and do everything, so wear your walking shoes and set aside an entire day to explore the museum.

One of the best interactive museums I’ve visited - and my 12 year old is of the same opinion. Plenty of options to explore. Plenty of space to move around. Pretty much impossible to finish in a day as you do get tired out. Diverse topics to explore and experience (universum, energy, sports, robotics, …)

Total waste of money and time! So disappointing! There needs to be a review & revision to their capacity protocols. Because of the excessive number of school groups, no one could enjoy the exhibits! The groups were inadequately chaperoned and lacked discipline. A controlled traffic flow is needed through each exhibit. My children could not experience any of the interactive activities or see half of the exhibits. Only the activities that required tickets beyond general admission were truly accessible.

This museum was excellent! One of the nicest we’ve been to. The displays were high quality and it had a lot to see but yet wasn’t so packed with stuff and information that you felt overwhelmed, as if you wouldnt get to do it all in one day. That said, we spent 4 hrs here including lunch, gift shop, and the whale movie, and we could have easily spent another hour or 2 to read more of the info. The only thing we didn’t do was the children’s museum section. My favorite was the dinosaur exhibits, including the temporary t-rex one. And the gem section was absolutely breathtaking. And I’m not even into geology all that much. But beauty is beauty! Me, my wife, my mother in law, and my 3 kids aged 11-19 all really enjoyed it and I would love to go back if we’re ever in Dallas again.

Well, I wish I could say I enjoyed the museum, but that would be a lie. My family and I were at the museum only about 20 minutes before having to rush my son to the ER after he injured his wrist on the running exhibit in the Sports exhibit. He didn't have enough room to come to a safe stop before hitting the wall at the end of the race track, and he hit the wall. The wall had padding, though obviously not thick enough to keep someone from getting hurt. We spent four hours in the ER and my son has a broken wrist that will possibly need surgery. After I reached out to the museum to let them know the severity of my son's injury, I got a generalized apology and was told we couldn't be refunded, but they were willing to reschedule a visit for us. We traveled from 3 hours away in Oklahoma to visit the museum, and didn't even get to enjoy that. Because of their exhibit not being safe enough, my son is now in a lot of pain, we had to cut our vacation short, and are not sure how many thousands of dollars in medical bills may be accrued. I'm not happy at all.
