The hike from the parking lot to the pool itself is 0.25 miles and takes 15-20 minutes. There is a second hike available, to the Pedernales river, which is another 0.50 miles and takes 30-45 minutes because it's fairy... More

The attendant actually ask how many in our party when we entered. I would definitely try and reach someone at the preserve prior to arrival.
