Great for kids

Took my 6yo. Had a great time. What an interesting park for exploring with young kids. Perfect for a leisurely afternoon. No crowds even on a Saturday!

Best time of the year. The Bloomin' Bluegrass Festival is AMAZING!! They book the best bands, have great food, tons of activities, and they have a chili cookoff!! If you get the chance to walk around, there is a ton of history too! Just a really nice place.

I only had my lunch break to explore this site but I walked most of the 27 acres. It was very interesting. The oldest stone home in Dallas County can be found here. There was a lot of older buildings and also a replica General Store and Gas Station. I'd love to come back and get a tour on a... More

This is indeed a respite from the bustle of Denton Drive and I-35. You can travel back in history and mill about on the property or enjoy the trails along the creek. You will like to return again and again. So take the family and friends ....they will thank you.

One of the best Christmas light shows in the Dallas area is the historic park in Farmers Branch. It is a drive through park that starts at City Hall and ends in the park. There is usually a line on the weekends, but, that is ok as it is a slow drive and lots to see. There is no charge... More

Amazing free christmas light route through the park. Worth to wait in line for. Loved it! You can donate children's hospital at the exit where Santa gives you some candy canes <3

Kudos to City of Farmers Branch for sponsoring this annual bluegrass festival. Parking is free with continuous shuttle to the historical Park where event is held. Admission is free thanks to City and the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation. Alan Tompkins organizes the event and is primarily responsible for bringing in top music groups, most of whom were recognized by the just... More

We visited the Farmers Branch Historical Park on a weekday and were lucky to be the only ones there to get a personal tour. The large, beautifully-maintained park has about 12 buildings available for inside tours with the guide, covering periods from the 1840's to 1937. The buildings, from log cabins to the church, school house, gas station, depot, store,... More

Went here for a school field trip. The kids had a great time leArning about the past. Everything was hands on and the kids were able to participate at each building. This would be a great place to bring the kids for an afternoon. Great big field that would be fun for a picnic and running around.
