Great fun!
Oct. 2021 • Couples
Beautiful horses and lots of fun watching the bull riding, barrel racing and roping. The MC was very informative and had an awesome voice. Pre rodeo entertainment 10 year old Sofia has an amazing voice. The trick roper and rider were fun to watch. Can’t go to the stockyards without seeing the rodeo.

Authentic Rodeo
Aug. 2021
Well what can I say! Concierge recommended to go here saying it was an authentic rodeo, and it was. Having booked dinner we thought we would be bored after an hour. How wrong could we be. Loved it, the family atmosphere was great and the skills of the competitors were so impressive. We stayed to the end and cancelled our reservation. Great value for money.

Bad treatment to animals
Jul. 2021
Tickets are overpriced.
We had tickets online for 8 PM show. When we went there we found out show starts at 7.30. Fortunately we were there by7.30.
Very bad treatment given to calfs in name of entertainment. There is no harm done to them. Because of this, we could not watch the full show (specifically kids), So we walked out at some point.

Rodeo Deserves Better
Jul. 2021
I know there have been many positive reviews of this rodeo. If you have never been to a rodeo, you might enjoy this experience. It will help if someone else pays for you. But having been to two or three rodeos in the past, I was disappointed with this one, especially in light of the $30 adult admission price, which is absurdly high for what you get. First, the riders and other performers are not among the most skilled, though I applaud their efforts. Second, the PA system is horrible. I could not understand most of what the announcer said throughout the evening. Third, the presentation was disorganized. Music, the announcer, and video presentations were all jumbled up and often distracted from what was actually happening on the grounds. There was no rhyme or reason to the interplay of these elements. Fourth, there was a lot of patriotism, and some prayer, both of which I are fine with me. But I wasn't sure why an old Ronald Reagan speech was really the best video to contribute to this tone. It just seemed to me that the organizers had gotten a little lazy and no one had bothered to try out something new on the video front. In fact, I think that was the main problem with the whole evening. I did not see any real love for the rodeo expressed in the organization of the event - only a desire to make some money with minimal effort. That is why, at this price, I do not recommend this rodeo. Not even for those who have never been to a rodeo before: save your first kiss for a better kisser.

Fun and Exciting!
Jun. 2021
This is one of the top activities we did on vacation...the Saturday night rodeo. A new experience for us all - it had been years since we had been to a rodeo and it was a first for our son. This rodeo is held every Friday and Saturday night, and is about 2 hours. We bought our tickets online a couple of weeks before but there were tickets available that night. We did get in line fairly early so we would be able to select where we were going to sit. A lot of people coming in near the start time were having to split up because there weren't enough seats together, the majority is general admission. The pre rodeo entertainment was really good, a young female singer and she had a really good voice. As for the rodeo, it was so much fun- our favorite thing was the bull riding, which is how it began and ended. In between was roping, barrel racing, team roping and more. Would definitely recommend this to everyone, this is not something my husband is interested in, but he enjoyed it. A must do when at The Stockyards.

AWESOME!!!

I have lived in Texas for years but just recently went to the Stockyards Rodeo for the first time. It was awesome! I have kids age 1-11 and they all loved it.

The whole experience is incredibly patriotic. Everybody is positive about every competitor. It is thoroughly entertaining. We were going back again next weekend for my son’s birthday-his choice!

Only gave this 4 stars because of handicapped accessibility difficulty
Apr. 2021
Our favorite thing about the Fort Worth Stockyards was the rodeo, which is held year-round, every Friday and Saturday night. It is the oldest rodeo in the state, having started in 1896. It is also the world’s only continuously weekly rodeo. It starts at 7:30 and usually runs about 2 hours. Doors open at 6:00. Tickets start at $15 but there are all kinds of specials and coupons. It appears that the participants at this rodeo are people trying to get experience and recognition, not world champions. Nonetheless, the contestants give it there all so it was not short on excitement. It was a lot of fun. There was also a champion rope twirler, and 10-year-old trick rider. Texans are known for their state pride and national patriotism. This event was symbolic of both. Despite their efforts, it is not very handicapped accessible. To get in, someone must meet you at the side door and let you in. That person graciously guides you to the handicapped ramp and seating area. The ramp is the problem. It is a movable, very steep, very narrow metal ramp. My mobility scooter had a lot of trouble getting up and down it. There are two areas designated for handicapped just at the top of the ramp, right by the chutes where the cowboys mount their bulls and broncs. It was fascinating to watch this process close-up. When they break out of the chute there is a huge adrenaline rush. You feel a connection with the riders. I highly recommend this small but exciting rodeo.

Very Exciting Evening at the Rodeo
Apr. 2021
We had a group of 24 and sat in the Silver Spur Boxes right on the sidelines. We were so close to the action that some of got a little dirt in our hair/drinks. The entire evening was so exciting and every moment was fillied with action packed fun!!! All 24 of us said we would do a rodeo night again! I highly recommend this event!!!
