I was unimpressed with the permanent collection of the museum as well as the special exhibition, a KAWS retrospective. I did love the giant metal structuring outside: "Vortex" by Richard Serra. Be sure to go into the structure and make a lot of noise!

We took our young kids here just to try it out. We went on a free day when the first floor was closed. The collection is so unique and they enjoyed it for 45 min. The structure, the walls, the pool, everything is so beautiful. The Amon carter and the kimball are very good too. You basically have to do... More

Free on Sunday includes the massive Kaws exhibit. From the fun entry through playful pieces we enjoyed every piece in the exhibit. It only took us about 90 minutes. If you come in the afternoon and are patient you can find free parking near the entrance too. They have a nice valet option as well. Be sure to head upstairs... More

Current KAWS exhibition is great and offers lots of photo ops! The Museum's architecture is impressive - and it's cafe is a beautiful indoor/outdoor spot for lunch. I would agree that the Museum's permanent collection is limited - but it's close proximity to the Kimball Art Museum makes for an easy visit or dining option if in the area.

How can this great piece of architecture have such a limited collection? The canvases are huge and so are the sculptural pieces on display but - why are the pieces so few?

World classs in ever aspect! The architecture of Tadao Ando is amazing. The detail and execution of the building with the serene water pond is perfection. Walk through the exhibits, admire the collection then recharge at Cafe Modern . You wont regret your visit.

I went to the Kimbell art museum first then across the street we saw the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and I'm so glad we did! The art here is all just a little odd which is a stark difference from the Kimbell art museum which is all very.. very traditional. This was very fun, and I love that... More

The wit a humour in this exhibition is unbelievable. Children of all ages will love his work. This exhibit just adds to the fine collection of other work in this museum. From Banksy to Andy Warhol it is a great place to visit.

Can't really get into much of "modern" art, when I see a fluorescent bulb mounted on the wall claiming to be "art", and a pile of dirt in a corner of a room claiming to be "art," and a canvas that is completely white claiming to be "art," etc. But these are extremes, and some of the things are not... One of our favorite dates is eating at Cafe Modern before one of Modern's indie film features. The food is excellent and the atmosphere beautiful and calming. The films are far better than what one finds in major theaters. All in all, if you're local to Fort Worth, or visiting our city, you really ought to experience an evening at... More
