This is the 2nd time for our family to come to Enchanted Rock. The last time our kids were 7 & 8, they're now 13 & 14 and this was at their request we go back. We live in Wisconsin & visit family in the Hill Country. We were advised by locals to get there early on the weekends or... More

This is a Texas State Park, so there is an entrance fee. The view from the top was worth the climb. It was steep but not really that bad of a climb and we made really good time. They do close the trail if it's the least bit wet and I can see why. It probably gets really slippery. There... More

We've wanted to hike Enchanted Rock for some time and finally found time to go. It's worth the early trip to the park. We brought our dog and he was allowed on the loop trail while the rest of our party hiked to the top. The perfect day to hike is a cloud covered, cooler day, which we had. There... More

This is a historic natural wonder in our own back yard. While taking the beautiful hike up one is struck with awe over what it meant to the indigenous people years ago. For modern man enjoying it today it provides a palpable bridge to years gone by. The Vista at the top is breathtaking and for those with a love... More

I guess it can't be said enough, if you plan to go to Enchanted Rock on the weekend you must go early. We drove from Fort Worth and arrived around 2:00. After everything we read, we knew we would not be able to enter at that time but was hoping we would be told we could come back later in... More

We took the walk straight to the Summit, not far but steep in places. There are several other trails. Get there early because the pro fills up fast and they will shut the gate until later in the day. They give you a trial map at the gate that gives you very detailed info on the park and the trials.

This is beautiful, the rock, the hike and the views. It's not tough but can be slippery. Take your time, enjoy the panoramic views, take it easy on the way down. Tons of parking, lots or camping. Minimal cell service.

I lived in San Antonio for 4 months in 2015 and made two visits to Enchanted Rock. Hands down favorite part was exploring a tunnel-like cave that goes down into the rock and runs under the surface for a little ways. It's a little tricky to find but worth it ... as long as you aren't afraid of small spaces... More

Definitely worth the visit with several options for the outdoors. Comfortable camping area, both managed and wild, good views, dark skies to see the stars, etc.

The park service monitors this park and it is hard to get in.They hand out a limited number of passes. They need to figure out a better way as we drove all the way out there and could not go in. They are not the friendliest park service either.
