The cave is a nice feature at Enchanted Rock. Note this is not a review of Enchanted Rock, but the cave at Enchanted Rock. It allows a nice beginner experience for climbing and bouldering. Be careful! Take a flashlight and be prepared to climb. Little...More

My family and I had the GIFT of walking to the top of this awesome place. My youngest was almost 4 years old - and he made it to the top - with a few rest breaks on the way. So worth it! A fabulous...More

The view at the top is more than worth the climb. Trail not very well marked on the way to the top, just get started and keep going up, you will get there! Wear sturdy shoes, not for the weak at heart.

Great experience. Go at your own pace and definitely try the summit hike up. Well worth it to see God's land.

Great park and hike to the top of ERock is relatively easy; see lot's of people doing it with kids, elderly, etc. Only problem is on really nice days in the spring (cooler weather) there can be a long line. Suggest a weekeday visit, or...More

Been to enchanted rock a few times and have never explored the caves. Didn't real know they were there. No major climbing or technical spelunking, but adds an extra adventure to the end of your hike up summit trail.

One of my favorite parks in Texas. It can be quite crowded on nice-weather days, so try to get there as early as you can to avoid waiting in your car for an hour to get in. Hiking up Enchanted Rock itself is the main...More

The hike looks a lot more daunting than it actually is, I got to the summit in twenty minutes without working real hard. Seems everyone goes to the summit peak, whereas the Southern peak is deserted. Lots of great views.

No. Maybe for the first 10 yds. Bring him back when he's 9-12 for a 2 hr. cave journey if you know both legs of the cave. You will need a flashlight, to wear pants and the right shoes, and to be ready to get dirty in general.

If you are standing on top of the rock, start going down the back side and it will be to your right after you start the down hill. There is actually a little sign there too.
