Open skate night - slippery slope
Apr. 2019 • Friends
Great concept. Can be a fun place for all. Pros: Easy parking, ice seems like it’s in good shape, special area with balance buckets for little ones, plenty of seating for spectators. Reasonably priced. Cons: Absolutely NO supervision on the ice! Older kids horsing around, younger kids taking their buckets to the general area, speed skaters were wooshing through and people were going the wrong way. Several folks in our group only went around a couple of times then sat out because it was so chaotic. No lockers or concessions. My husband and I both got broken skates and had to exchange them.
Safety measures should be put in place.

Not a typical arena
Nov. 2018 • Couples
This was our second time to visit. Both times were for a high school basketball tournament. The overall layout of the arena is not real conducive to the basketball part of the arena. The parking garage is at the opposite end, and is quite a walk. Absolutely no concessions at the game.

Amazing Convention Venue
Aug. 2018 • Business
We had our convention in this arena, and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. We really enjoyed setting up and the actual 3 days of our convention, and did not have anything negative to report.

The video and sound were great, and all the facilities were clean and more than adequate.

The parking garage had ample spaces and convenient elevators.

I can recommend negotiating with this property for a future event.

Horrible even organization
Mar. 2018 • Family
We came for the American Cheer Championship, March 25, 2018, there was absolutely zero organization from the venue. Everyone was allowed in as they came. Hundreds of people standing wall to wall in the lobby’s, very little room to even move, No idea where we were to go, who to ask or where the groups were to set up. Athletes and parents were allowed to block entry and exit doors so the athletes could get ready. Further in the lobby, some athletes were practicing their routines, jumps and kicks amongst the crown and who ever got in the way. Just before the event was to start a guy in a yellow event shirt decided then was the time to announce directions, attempting to whistle and scream above the noise. He told people to pay attention then started rambling directions over the noise which was extremely hard to hear. The event person yells that we all must go back outside for tickets then re enter for the security check, which was set up some distance away to the left of the doors. Everyone rushed outside at once, not caring who was in their way, just push and shove right through. The re entry was even worse - once people re entered, they all decided to stop right in the entryway by the doors to visit, wait or whatever. People again pushing and shoving to get through, included some athletes who shouldn’t have been outside to begin with (no adult supervision) everyone then piled around security to try to get In at once, who cares who’s in the way. This would have been so much better if the venue would have had some forethought to streamline and make designated lines or even utilize ICS plans for big events which even the smallest or cities are required to know for any event. It would have been better and easier if the ticket booths were opened before 10:30 am and setting security at the door so they could better control the people. Total and complete lack of planning. Someone could have been hurt. Haven’t tried the food yet but I do know you can’t buy a soda from a machine set up in the lobby. Only can buy food inside the even. You will be forced to throw what you have away.

Dr. Pepper Arena for the Cirque du Soleil - Varekai
Dec. 2017 • Friends
Had a FANTASTIC Time!

The show was marvelous! Moment to moment, the performers thrilled with incredible acrobatics, aerial and floor gymnastics! The dancers were mesmerizing, and the costumes were magical!

We were enchanted and excited and by the time it was over, exhausted by the constant thrills!

The Arena itself is easy to get to and well laid out. Plenty of elevators throughout the large parking garage. Although there is a gift shop and various vendors, the focus of the arena is the EVENT, not merchandising.

There were plenty of helpful staff people to help guide patrons to different areas, and for me, the handicap accessible seating was AWESOME! Excellent view of the stage area and a comfortable distance from the stage, so that all could be seen.

The bathroom was fully accessible - my only complaint is that the toilet was one of those "low to the ground" styles that is becoming common. For someone in a wheelchair, the lower toilet is a bit problematic, although it was manageable. As far as "problems" go, that is a minor one!

So many sports arenas and stadiums are poorly designed for anything except sports. This Arena, however, is an excellent place for large, spectacular events and shows, as well as sports! Well laid out and great acoustics too!

SEND Conference 2017
May 2017 • Solo
I visited on Friday and Saturday May 19 and 20 for the SEND Conference with David Platt and Kevin Ezell speaking. It was sponsored by the North American and International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. First off we were given wristbands with colors and were greeted by friendly staff of the arena who held up signs and helped us find our way to our seats. The arena was nice and cool and cozy. I could see the stage from all over as it was great seating and great views.

Nice Arena
Apr. 2017 • Family
I was at Dr. Pepper for a conference. This is a nice arena. It does seem old, but the authorities keep the place tidy. The restroom are clean as well. It's also easy to get to the seats.

Great Family Entertainment
Mar. 2017 • Family
Our kids love watching the minor league hockey games here. The venue is great because there is not a bad seat in the house and you feel like you are right on the court. The Arena makes suer you are entertained the whole time. We love the mechanical blimp that flies around and stops free t-shirts and stuff to the crowd. Look at the calendar before booking because on special evenings, kids can go down to the ice and skate with the players and mascot afterwards and get autographs. My boys did this and LOVED it!!! Great picture opportunities too.
If you need a place to stay, try out an Airbnb on the Lake Lewisville side of Frisco away from the hustle and bustle while you enjoy fishing, water sports, hiking etc, as well. There is an Airbnb listing with "1600 sq ft" in the title and it is right outside of Hidden Cove Park.

I went to see my first D-League game and it was very good. The home team Texas Legends defeated the Sioux Falls Sky Force. It was good looking arena in a great location.
