While in Galveston we walked around the Strand which is an "old town" area filled with shops, restaurants and galleries. Had a great time, on the weekend several vendors set up popup tents and brought there goodies for sale. There was also an park area where they have small events, we were there on St. Patrick's Day and they had... More

We strolled the downtown area for several hours. The historic buildings are quite beautiful. There are all types of gift shops, clothing stores, restaurants and pubs and more!

Nice downtown shopping and dining area. Lots of trinket shops and souvenirs. The historical buildings (and even some of the unpleasant smells) reminded me of New Orleans French Quarter. Definitely worth checking out.

There are not many words to describe the Strand. Weather you are browsing the many shops or going on one of the Dash Beardsley's Ghost tours (Jordan is a great your guide for this tour, little quirky but fun) it is a never forget spot. They have high end clothing stores to beach bum attire all within a few city... More

This actually has a variety of shops, from kid-friendly, to higher end jewelry. Always love going to LaKings to watch taffy being made.

There were a lot of nice shops and activities here. La Kings Ice Cream shop was good and they also had a good selection of candy. My kids played Chess in the square and also went into the Haunted Mayfield Manor. There were a lot of nice shops to buy souvenirs as well. The buildings and structure kind of reminded... More

There is always something to do in the stand. Great food, shops, and festivals often occurs. Mardi gras is tons of fun. Can get busy on cruise days but fun to see the ships
