The Tall ship Elissa is awesome. Depending on when you visit, it can be really busy, or not busy at all. I have seen it both ways. If you are going to Galveston, and you like boats and ships, it is worth the visit.

So very beautiful. Stepping aboard is to wander back in time to the day of the tall ships. The boat is incredible beautiful. A delight for all ages

I was priveleged to sail on the sea trials of Elissa this year. This is a dedicated paid and volunteer staff. The museum is so interesting and the history of Elissa and the port of Galveston is fascinating.

I've been coming to Galveston my entire life and never knew this was here. So glad my husband discovered it and encouraged us to visit. Fascinating!! The ship is gorgeous and it is kept in good condition by a group of volunteers. You are able to walk all over the ship, including going down into the cargo hold and the... More

The ship had an interesting story and it was fun getting to go onboard and see it in person. It requires a lot of upkeep and they were working on it the day we visited.

To have this amazing relic of Texas history available to tour is like having a California mission floating in Galveston Bay, only more finely restored. You can climb below deck to see the working and living quarters of a real transport ship that not only brought goods from the Old World, but intrepid settlers from Europe hoping to find a... More

Brings back the early days of Galveston as the major seaport of Texas in the 1800's. Learn about seafaring and the ways of the sailors of those days. Authentic ship manned by people who love the era.

An historic ship with a lot to show for people interested in Texas maritime history. We really enjoyed wandering around in it for about 2-3 hours.
