We stayed in a tent on the bay side. The restrooms were very clean, air conditioned, large, and had soap. All of these items are important when camping. The beach was easy to access. The park is a short drive to the center of Galveston...More

This is a nice destination park to base your explorations if Galveston Island out of. It would have received a perfect grade if they only had sewer connections at the RV sites, and just a bit more space between the sites. We were lucky enough...More

We visited the state park to spend some time on a beach. The only thing to keep in mind if you plan on going here is the beach is not free. When we were there it was $5 a person. The registration place is very...More

State park is $5 person, nice beach, and enjoyed the day. Not sure if there is a benefit to the beach, other than it is a state park. You can go to many beaches for free. However, nice day and worth doing.

We camped here in our RV for a weekend family getaway. We stayed on the beach side and found the spots to be adequate with decent prices ($25/night). You get water and electrical hookups and there is a nearby restroom/shower building that is fairly new....More

Well maintained park reasonably separated from densely populated beach communities. We has a peaceful afternoon there. Mostly couples or families on beach. Larger groups in picnic areas behind dunes. Don't forget that alcohol consumption is prohibited in park and on the beach, as are all...More

We enjoy visiting state and national parks so of course we wanted to check this one out. However, when we arrived it didn't appear there was anything to see, so we didn't even get out of the car. I wouldn't waste my time.

While travelling for business, I chose to save some money on a hotel and cross out a bucket-list item by camping on the beach. While the campsites are over a dune from the water, it was close enough. The campsites are very nice, and the...More

I am not sure of the time either. You might want to call or see if they have a schedule on their website. They have such a great park, good luck.
