Overview
More
The American Undersea Warfare Center at Seawolf Park is home to historic WWII Navy vessels, the USS Cavalla attack submarine, and the USS Stewart Destroyer Escort, which are dry-docked in the park. Experience the battle as you take a self-guided tour(with available audio) aboard each ship. Learn how our young American sailors lived and fought on the high seas. Surround yourself with scenic views of the Port of Galveston and the surrounding waterways. See wild dolphins dancing and ferries crossing in the waters just off of the island. At the tip of the island, Seawolf Park offers the best fishing in the area, complete with a paid public fishing pier and a live bait camp! Enjoy picnic tables and playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts, which make up the rest of the park where our 2 historic vessels lay, guarding the entrance to the Galveston Ship Channel. Bring a picnic lunch and relax in the park after touring Galveston Island’s premier, open-air WWII Naval Museum.

This is a nice little place to visit. Going into the submarine it shows you just how tight for space they were and gives you an idea of the conditions the crew had to put up with. You also get to take a walk around...More

A short trip over the bridge to Seawolf Park to see the battleship and submarine. Self guided tour, $10 each plus $6 parking. Walked the pier and checked it all out. Pretty cool to see.

After visiting the USS Alabama in Mobile we were slightly disappointed in Seawolf Park. There was a lot less to see on the USS Stewart. The park is a nice drive out of Galveston. Our GPS tried to send us to the wrong location, but...More

Really nice place to go and relax by the water and just chill. The structures had been damaged from Harvey and needed so much repairs, but we met several friendly people and it was a good experience.

No. Getting on and going through the submarine and the destroyer require stairs, even ladders. The US Navy did not worry about ADA in WW II.
