Very plain port, feels like a warehouse. It took two hours in line to get on the boat and we were in the second earliest group. Leaving the boat had a long delay because there... read more

Fog caused the port to close and we boarded our ship 4 hours late. Boarding was a zoo but we got through it fairly quickly. The personnel were very helpful and friendly. The port then close for 21 hours so we were stuck on a ship in the Port. There are very strict rules in Texas so only half the... More

Very plain port, feels like a warehouse. It took two hours in line to get on the boat and we were in the second earliest group. Leaving the boat had a long delay because there weren't enough lines open for customs. I have a feeling that the size and people capacity of this port is holding back bigger and nicer... More

Easy taxi drop off, smooth luggage transfer, doors just steps away from curb. 1st time to cruise out of Galveston so we were a little anxious but it was one of the smoothest. The luggage and customs process after the cruise was just as smooth.

Always love coming to Galveston Island. Great place to hang out and the restaurants and shops near the cruise ships are really cool. We always stay the night before a cruise and just drink in the island vibe.

You can ride for free. Just be advised it can get very busy during certain times of the day.. Loved it.

Not sure where to post this on here, but, here goes...I wanted to make Carnival (and others now) know of the sheer dissatisfaction of my very FIRST cruise experience EVER, via the Carnival Liberty from Galveston to Cozumel-10/27/16 to 10/31/16. I was sooo excited to celebrate my 17th year anniversary with my husband...and on a cruise for that matter! We... More

The port is a good place to depart from. Best airport to fly into is Hobby. There are all kinds of shuttle services to and from the airport. If you opt to drive it costs to park anywhere between $10-$20 per day. There are some restaurants around the area. None within walking distance if your carrying luggage. Closest is a... More

Nice port with calm water. I would recommend taking a day or two and touring the town the Strand and the beach are very nice and there is a lot to do. Great history and food.

We cruise from this port a lot. We usually never have any trouble. I do think it is easier to prepay for my parking at portofglaveston.com. It is only a $5 discount, but any discount is better than not. Our cars are secure, in a fenced in area. No worrying while you are out on a wonderful ship enjoying your... More
