Centrally located, very friendly and helpful staff, in a beautiful building. If you aren't a member or city resident, you can still use the facilities. The wifi and computers are free, but there is a small fee to print anything. The Galveston and Texas History...More

This place was a nice surprise. It's a very informative museum full of Galveston displays and artifacts, and it's also a working library. Beautiful building inside and out.

This has great history of Galveston. I even found the original plans for my house. From 1923!! Plus lots of other historical jewels.

Could not believe all the history they had about Galveston. Great displays easy to read. Kids liked the section on sailing and pirates . Cool and AC.

This is the best place to go FIRST to get a handle on the size, scope and history of the 1900 hurricane. The coverage is excellent and it gives you a real sense of what happened and what followed the event. It did shape Galveston...More
