Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is where Africa comes to Texas. Our 1,800-acre preserve holds a 9.5 mile scenic drive where you can interact with over 1,100 rare and endangered animals roaming free in their herds. Stay in your car, reserve your spot on a guided tour, or even spend a night at our Safari Camp or Lodge to see over 50 different species of wild animals including cheetahs, wolves, giraffes, rhinos and more. The delicious food at The Overlook Cafe is paired with an incredible view overlooking the park and our gift shop offers souvenirs to take home to family and friends. While Fossil Rim is sure to provide a unique experience and exciting adventure, we are dedicated to the conservation of species on the brink of extinction. Fossil Rim conducts scientific research, trains professionals, responsibly manages our natural resources and is committed to public education. We are a not-for-profit breeding center dedicated to the recovery of species in the wild and we invite you to join us in our efforts. Grab your camera and head this way for the scenic wildlife drive you won't forget. Located in Glen Rose, Texas, we are just 52 miles SW of Fort Worth and well worth a visit for people of all ages!

Coming here is hands down one of my favorite things to do. Granted you're not suppose to feed the animals by hand but I mean come on how can you resist the opportunity to hand feed a giraffe?? To me the cost is affordable, the feed is only $8 a bag. The experience will always vary based on the temperament... More

My husband and I visit frequently and absolutely love this place. Our favorites are the Giraffes and Elk. Each time we go it is always different. It is so cool to see the animals come up to your vehicle. It is a fun, family atmosphere. We haven't done any of the tours yet but plan too soon.

We saw many animals from giraffes to emus to zebras to various members of the antelope and deer family up close and in natural surroundings. The opportunity to feed these and other animals and see cheetahs so close brings the safari experience close to the Fort Worth-Dallas metropolitan area. Dallas zoo membership brings the admission down by 50%. The facilities... More

This adventure was easy to find, quick to purchase tickets, and nine miles of beautiful animals that came up to our car. From Grandpa to parents and my 2 year old grand child we all enjoyed this laid back adventure. Camera shots of zebras and giraffes eating out of our hand are priceless! Half way through the park, we stopped... More

We took a truck and put all of our group in the bed of the truck with blankets. This was a great way to get the animals to come to you. It really paid off when we came to the giraffes you do run the risk of not having a good trip depending on the animal activity but overall this... More

I had a guided tour and it was awesome! I got to see the cheetahs, and learned so much! IT was so nice to be able to view and touch the animals from a safe distance insead of worrying about them scratching my car.

I've visited here seven or eight times over the years while the kids were growing up and it's always been a treat. I just went again last weekend with the "kids" who are now 20 and 22 and it was still a great time. New baby giraffe was the hit of the day. One of the things that has always... More

Bought food at the beginning, fed Antelope, Giraffes, Wildabeast and others. Make sure you ration the food as not to run out before you finish your trip.

We were hesitant to go because of the price tag associated with it. We wound up using our KERA membership to get one adult in free. We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday morning in winter, and we had a great time. Not too crowded, and we let cars that were in more of a hurry than us pass. We... More

We are season pass holders and have been for many years. Thoroughly enjoy getting close to all the animals. We are happy to see that they are working on the road. We contributed towards the rebuilding of the gift shop at the top and have a brick with our name on it. Not long after the brick was put down,... More
