We've been by here many times and stopped for the first time today. No admission charge...donation only. Behind the museum is a collection of a restored historical home, hospital, and inn. You can go inside and tour these at your leisure with a little brochure describing each. Wonderful glimpse of history into the area.

It's incredible how these people help the sea turtles and how much they care about what they are doing. They really need support to help to carry on this important mission. The lecture was great, watching a volunteer feed "Gerry" was very interesting. Seeing the turtle with only one fin and how they are helping this turtle along is worth... More

This makes a nice spot to learn of the history of the Rio Grande Valley. It is well worth a visit. Our guide was very informative, and had a great time telling us of the history of the area.

We enjoyed our time at the Harlingen Arts & Heritage Museum. The buildings were very well done and it was fun to wander through them at our own pace.

My heading refers to the current exhibit which went on display tonight, a Christmas tree exhibit which runs logically until Christmas. Various art and other exhibits are displayed periodically throughout the year in the main building. The main purpose of the complex is to preserve and display buildings and artifacts dating back to the turn of the 20th century when... More

This museum is filled with treasures. The old buildings transported there are only a small part. The really interesting collection is in the big buildings in the rear. There are also temporary exhibits inside the front building. Some of them can be quite unique.

I love to check out museums in small towns to learn a little about the history of the area. This free (donations accepted) museum was one of the better ones I have been to during my travels. It has a few historical buildings you could walk through set up with old artifacts from the area. The buildings are air-conditioned too... More

We enjoyed the little museum... It's old and tired in a few of the exibit buildings. But it gives a nice historic review of the history of the area. Stop in and enjoy it.
