What a beautiful campground ! We had a site close to the Lakes edge.We sat at the waters edge in the morning enjoying our coffee. So peaceful. Lovely, spacious sites with plenty of space between other sites for privacy. Very clean facilities. Nice playground for children, and beach areas. We were a bit disappointed that the kayaks weren't available to us in the middle of the week, but understand that it was the end of August and things have slowed down. Very friendly informative staff. We will definitely be back.

Nice park on lakes. Day use and camping. Some sights easy acess to water or view. Shower house. Pit toilets throughout. Nice staff. Firewood is hit and miss. Come supplied if counting on decent fire experience.

Decided to visit Ellenwood as it was a great day for a walk. You can park your car at the entrance and walk to the lake. As I read the signs it seems they have a great setup for cross country skiing. However no snow makes for a nice walk. They do have an outhouse with toilet paper by the Ski Cabin. I peeked inside and it would be a nice rest area. The camp sites looked very large and many by the water. It is such a shame the park does not offer a few sites for winter camping.

We stayed here for three days and two nights. It was like staying in heaven or what I imagine to be. It was peaceful, serenity at its very best. The camping sites were large and level which is so important when pitching a tent! I love all the nature that isn't as disturbed as so many other campgrounds. Karen, one of the people who worked in the welcome center, is wonderful. She shared stories and pictures of the owls that had been hatched earlier this year. Her sharing added so much to our enjoyment of our time there. I can't wait to return next year.

Over my years of camping I've always enjoyed falling in love with a campground. Everyone has its own reason. Ellenwood earns 5 stars for a number of reasons. Firstly the staff are spectacular the park is provincially run and everyone that works there is such a great person. They make you feel they your walking in your backyard (the way it should be). The campsites are exactly what you want. 9/10 are complete hidden and privet. The campground doesn't have a pool but why would you need it when it has the best lake in town. Privet beach, one side has a lifeguard. Showers are clean and hot, and for only $25.00 a night you really can't complain. A no brainer stay for anyone in need of a campground.
