My family and I went during the steak cook off and were amazed. The greatest outlaw lived in Hico Tx at one point and time. The evidence is overwhelming I'm telling you I never knew. I have lived here my entire life and can't believe...More

So maybe Billy the Kid really died here. Maybe not. But the museum was informative and interesting. And free! It was a nice stop on the road to the hill country.

A lot of people know about Brushy Bill Roberts and like most, I thought his claims to being William Bonney to be little more than a load of road apples, horse hockey: phooey. While much of the items on display are conjecture and 2nd hand...More

I was a bit disappointed in the exhibits, which are mostly local trinkets and newspaper clippings. The supposed facts are certainly stretched to their limits here, for the sake of perpetuating the myth of BTK having grown old in Hico, which might be all that...More

The museum has everything Billy the Kid. Fun to hear the story of Bushy Bill. The people of Hico believe Billy the Kid lived and died in Hico. The story has never been proven but the museum makes for a fun visit and a peak...More

Went based on reviews. Yes, staff is well informed and happy to share their knowledge. However, it smells moldy and musty and seems to be full of junk. For die-hard billy the kid fans only and not good for kids.More
