A beautiful botanical park that shows the forest that was Houston before it was it was founded. Nicely kept, plenty of parking, and if you come at the right time you can eat plums you pick up right from the tree.

A fantastic day out with the kids and our dog. Lots of families and people with their pets were walking the trails. We saw many turtles, butterflies, skink, a white fuzzy caterpillar, squirrels, loads of birds and lizards. Really nice nature outing for everyone.

Beautiful trails so close to the city. I was looking for some hiking, animals and fun - and found everything. Super friendly and helpful staff made my adventure so much more worth it.

This lovely park is a great place to stroll through, get my steps in, and see birds and butterflies. Lots of families and kids here.

I love reading reviews about how people see nothing here. That's largely because wild critters typically avoid people. If you want to see them, you must proceed quietly. You also have to move slowly and actually stop and look for them. On some rare occasions,...More

You can fish in Lake Houston and surrounding areas. Go to the web site of Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. You will find all you need for information on fishing and nature activities.
