Rice University has a beautiful campus. My family and I included it as part of our "Musuem Day" itinerary. We really enjoyed it.

If this is your interest worth going to, if you have air know an aspiring student or want to encourage one, get a visit planned, it is esp. for the South and Southwest a great school and a great campus.

This is a pretty campus overall. It's downtown and therefore an easy size to walk. The activity trail around the perimeter is ~3miles long and is nice for a bike ride or walk/jog/run. Caution in that this is mostly a dirt with a little gravel...More

Walked the campus, beautiful area, very serene on Saturday morning during the flooding, Great place for a relaxing walk. Lots of history in the buildings, interesting sculptures and just a peaceful walk during the troubled times for Houston during the Hurricane Harvey aftermath and clean-up.

Usually you have to pay to park. Five dollars I believe. But the tennis matches are free to the public.
