I very much wanted to love this museum. I value so deeply the correction of American history which continues to under-represent the role of African Americans. There were some excellent bits in this museum, but overall it is in great need of a professional curator....More

Exhibit has artifacts across several historical periods. We enjoyed the informative film and we especially enjoyed the Harriet Tubman re-enactment. The whole experience was memorable for everyone in our group, especially the youth. Located in Houston's Museum District this is a site not to miss.

Want to find out the History of The Buffalo Soldiers? A very easy day and such wonderful information to discover. The lecture on the underground railroad was outstanding. Plan on going back and will spend longer time with research information available.

The museum is young in age opening in 2001 and small in physical space, but the exhibits speaks loudly of the role of the Buffalo Soldiers in the defense of the United States. We were fortunate to be greeted by Captain Matthews, the founder of...More

We are US History buffs and were very impressed with this Museum. Although not large in volume it is very informative in the struggle of Blacks to serve the USA military in a segregated environment. A one hour tour would be enough.
