More
"Project Row Houses is a neighborhood based art and cultural organization located in Houston's Third Ward. PRH was established in 1993 on a site of 22 abandoned shotgun houses (c. 1930) to connect the work of artists with the revitalization of our community. It was inspired by the work of African-American artist Dr. John Biggers."

We had no idea what to expect and yet we all walked away in amazement. The white shotgun houses could have been rumble yet restored to showcase art, multi-media interaction and more. Our excellent guide was full of pride and information as she explained the...More

This place has so much richness. Although, the houses are in a low income neighborhood (third ward) please don’t let that be a stumbling block for you. The amount of information we were given from the start in the office until we ended our tour...More

Mixed thoughts on this "Houston things to-do". Very friendly people, just left with feeling there could have been more. The potential is there along with a genuine Idea of helping artist. We usually take a few pictures as you can see from other reviews, we...More

This place is artistically infused in the middle of an area of town that you don't expect to find art. It's always good to stop by Project Row Houses when students each have a house to create in. How each student transforms a shotgun house...More

My wife and I drove through this area, stopped, and didn't find anyone at home. We didn't find anyone that could help us so we eventually moved on. The row houses were interesting, but there was very little evidence of any projects. Maybe on our...More

Labor Day weekend, my friend brought me here as we were exploring funky parts of Houston. Apparently the 3rd Ward is one of the historically black neighborhoods. Rather than be torn down, the row houses were saved to preserve the history of the neighborhood. Some...More

I stopped by after seeing the Flower man's house. The young lady working knew nothing and did not promote the place. There were great exhibits, but if I had not just walked around would have missed. The installation homage to amateur boxing was wonderful.

Not much to see, tours don't exsist. They are a work in progress I hope because the restoration would be great if completed.
