This was a cool statue with free entry. It's great to break up driving time! The bathrooms were very dirty, though. It's a onetime place to visit.

Worth the time! Beautiful surroundings and easy to get to for a closeup view and pictures. Big Sam, as the locals call him, is a very large statue, and there are several informational stations. Great for anyone to see and especially all the history buffs.

This huge white stone statue catches you off guard as you are driving down the Texas I-45. We actually exited and turned around to see the statue and let our girls learn more about Texas history.

Wonderful staff. Statute was interesting. Gift shop interesting. Bathrooms fine. Small picnic area. Not much else there.
