NOTE: On Saturdays we are Reservation ONLY.

William Chris Vineyards focuses on hand crafted Texas wine. We use minimum handling, low-impact techniques to produce premium old world wines. We farm about 40 acres in three different vineyards in Texas. our tasting room in Hye, TX is a remodeled 100 yr old farm house and back to its original state. Come sip in our 400 year oak grove or tour our 18th century cemetery.

NOTE: On Saturdays we are Reservation ONLY. Please set up a reservation online or over the phone. We want you to have the proper William Chris experience and see what we are all about. By being reservation only, this allows us to control the number of guests through the tasting room and gives us the ability to provide a true William Chris experience to each and every guest.

History

Established in 2008.

William Chris Vineyards is a small family owners vineyard and winery operation started by Chris Brundrett and Bill Blackmon. Both have been in the Texas wine industry previously.

Great hideaway in the Hill Country

We are members here and really enjoy their wines. They always have great hospitality and service to accompany some tasty reds and vibrant whites

William Chris is truly the "Best of the Best". Everyone is so friendly, they treat you as family from your first visit. It is obvious that Bill and Chris are hands on owners by the way the employees interact with each other and the guests. The wines are definitely top of the line which is why they are more expensive... More

This was our first stop on our weekend in Texas Hill country. We made the reservations for tasting online beforehand depending on the time slot we would arrive (it's flexible you can make changes anytime). The tasting was quite informative and they had some really high-quality mixes. Our server was also kind enough to give us a descriptive tour of the property.Since... This is a must stop on the Fredericksburg wine trail if you're into high quality wine. The winery wants you to make online reservations, but you could probably just stop in during slower times. We found the staff very friendly and the wines the best in the area. We ended up buying a mixed case to take home. There's also... More

Stopped here at the recommendation from two other wineries. Nice wines from European style grapes. Bought a mixed case to share with wine friends back home. Never tasted Texas wines until this trip.

They had a nice venue, quite a large area to enjoy wine and hors devours they served. Their wines are of high quality but not much in heavy deep reds. You have to make reservations prior too, we did when we were on our way and they were very accomodating. I would recommend to add this stop in your wine... More

This winery was recommended by many locals on our tour of Texas Hill Country. Their tasting was more expensive than most at $20 and did not include a complimentary glass. Their tasting list is made up of dry wines. If you like rather complex dry wines, you will enjoy William Chris. If you or your group prefer sweeter wines, you... More

This was our 2nd visit here recently. The first was rushed on our part and we knew we wanted to come back and explore the wines more. We were not disappointed! Great wines and knowledgeable staff. Fun atmosphere. Set up for groups of all sizes. We will be back!

Our hostess Janis was very knowledgeable about the wines, the history of the winery, and the lovely tasting room and surrounding patio and picnic grounds. The tasting was $20 each, and one fee is waived if you buy 3 bottles. Wouldn't you know, we bought one $50 bottle. Their wines are truly all Texas grapes. If we were close by,... More

We were visiting from out of state and stopped at a few Texas wineries while in the area. William Chris is a great stop! The building is lovely, as is the panoramic view overlooking the vast grounds and LBJ Ranch. The wine was delicious. I had no idea that Texas had good wine and was pleasantly surprised! The lady who... More
