A great venue for amateur theater and music aren't really amateur: they're very good

The Irving Arts Center is a nicely designed building with two theaters in it, along with a small art gallery. The art gallery is usually filled with the type of art that you would expect from a community arts center - locally based artists, local amateurs, students, and occasional traveling exhititions. The theater productions are where this venue really shines.... More

If you are looking for something to do in the Irving area, don't overlook this great space, from rotating art displays to live performances the Arts Center delivers top quality entertainment. One of the nicest things about the space is the variety it offers in a compact area. From the sculpture garden in front of the building to the 5... More

Had a thouroughly enjoyable evening attending the Nutcracker at the Irving Arts Center. The only negative I can think of is we parked on the opposite side of the entrance unknowingly given our first time visit, but the complex was well marked and lit. Fortunately, it wasn't raining!! Make sure to carve out extra time to take in all the... More

In a recent visit to IAC, I enjoyed a production of Cole Porter's "Anything Goes". The music was great, the conductor very animated. The troupe stayed true to the original 1934 production. Dance numbers were exciting. I also visited several of the art galleries and was impressed with the presentation in all of them. This is a must-see art center.

The museum of Peru was in full force to introduce North Texas on a tour of their Andean culture that featured historic and temple art from Pre-Columbian times. Amazing craftsmanship that spanned the centuries. It was a very educational cultural tour of art form.

We recently attended the musical Anything Goes with another couple, this was the first time we had been to the Irving Arts Center. This was a wonderful surprise, the auditorium was nice size, I thought the venue was just the right size for plays or musicals, just close enough to see faces and expressions. I thought our seating in the... More

We went to see an old Cole Porter musical, Anything Goes, and were very impressed with the overall production and excellence of the cast. Lots of funny moments and very talented performers. The facility is older, but most seating is very good. The Producer, Steven Jones built a wonderful production. Music Director, Jay Dias and the ensemble orchestra were fantastic!

Lyric Stage performs professional musicals with a full, live orchestra at the Irving Arts Center. The Irving Arts Center always has free wonderful art or photography exhibitions, which we enjoy prior to a Lyric Stage performance. The Center also has different size theatres for different performances types. Seats are good throughout. Bathrooms are clean with adequate quantity.

We've been season ticket holders of MainStage Las Colinas at the Irving Arts Center for the past three years and every show we've seen has been a hit. You would not think that these are community theater amateur productions. Five show seasons sell for as low as $58 mid-week and $75 for weekends. That's a high of $15 per show... More

This place is way better than i expected from a city this size. They have a very active musical troupe, and the quality of the productions is highly professional. The facilities are much more modern than the outside building suggests. I give this place a 5, compared to other playhouses in DFW mid cities.
