Chateau/vineyard located in the beautiful Beqaa valley around 1.5 hours drive from Beirut in a stunning setting with the vines surrounded by hills on either side. Wine tasting was poor with little explanation of the vineyard and wines , but have previously visited and taken the full tour and tasting which was very good. Some of the wines are excellent and a good range of prices ..particularly the Comte de M red at the top end which is around $35 a bottle with your lunch ..found this $100 in some Beirut restaurants. Lunch menu is pretty good and all well cooked and presented. There is an outside terrace, garden and indoor space for dining. The outside spaces are a perfect spot for lunch as part of a tour of the Beqaa valley and surrounding areas. Highly recommended.

We had booked a vineyard and wine tasting tour. Tour turned out to be of the production facilities only and were only given two red wines which were terrible. Had lunch - service was slow and quality of food was poor. Went to purchase wine at the shop and the cashier tried to fleece me by asking for a higher price than was shown in the display cabinet and playing around with the exchange rate and change. A complete lack of integrity.

I arranged for a driver to take me to Baalbek and Anjar Roman ruins, and Chateau Kefraya from Beirut and back, for about $160 US ... a little pricey, but worth it ... let's face it, my life was in this fellow's hands, which is somewhat important! ... we were heading into Hezbollah territory, which, was fine, nobody hassled us ... anyway — we showed up at the winery and I asked for a premier wine tasting ... I was the only one there on a rainy day, so, I got the red carpet ... the sommelier (sorry, his name escapes me) was fantastic ... he gave me a wonderful spiel on their wines, and much more ... and the wines? OMG ... one red wine in particular was SO good ... I ended up buying two bottles and, some Cuban cigars, along with the tasting fee ... in total, about $80US or so ... I have to say, their wines are superb ... everything I tasted was beyond my expectations, to be honest ... if you go to Beirut, you MUST go here!!!! ... trust me, you will not be disappointed ...

We visited Chateau Kefraya on December 2019. We did the estate outdoor tour, the cellars visit and we had lunch at the house restaurant. Noel our guest was very nice to us and explained with much details the history of Chateau Kefraya, the wine making process and guided us through the the characteristics of their produce during the wine tasting. The property is really beautiful at the footsteps of the hills overlooking the Beqaa Valley. The chateau’s wine cellar visit is particularly interesting since in addition to oak casks the property has started to use clay amphorae as part of the vinification process. Their first wine, Comte de M is really good: silky feeling and spices aromas combine to build a solid and pleasing wine. I strongly recommend to stop by at Chateau Kefraya while visiting the Beqaa Valley.

The vineyard in itself is beautiful situated in a beautiful area. We had Noel as our very experienced sommelier. He was clearly passionate about his subject and it was wonderful wine tasting experience thanks to him. The tour with the wine tasting was about an hour and then we had lunch. The food was great, just watch out for the wasps! It is worth it if you in the area and have never done wine tasting.

Lebanon has various chateaux and vineyards, Kefraya is one of them. The place itself is very nice, clean, you can catch a tour by walk or by a tractor in the fields. There is a free degustation (white/rose/red - only one of each) and a restaurant. We did not eat in the restaurant but seemed quite pricey. Still an experience to do.

We took the "connaoisseurs tour" because it was the next available one and according to the girl that explained there wasn't many differences in the tours. The explanation was confusing. The person doing the tour was walking very very fast, we didn't have time to take pictures and we tasted only two red wines. We are used to do tastings many times and you don't only taste two wines and are told that you should eat bread to taste how the wine would be great in 10 years...you put the 10 years wine for tasting. The tour was finished and we were extremely disappointed. So was the other couple that did the tour.
Then Thanks to Cecile we were then able to taste other wines that we wanted, do the train tour (thanks also to Asis who was so nice and took us beyond his hours of work). We then bought the wines that we liked and another white that we tried for the first time.
Conclusion: make sure you have a good explanation of the difference of the tours, take the train tour and you can taste the wine in the main building.

This really is a wonderful day out in Lebanon. Such a contrast to the city and beach life of Beirut. The staff are friendly and welcoming and worth going on the tour as well to the tombs.
As for trying the wine it’s fantastic. Yalla go!

Book a full day to have the full experience from cave visits, wine tasting.... . For the restaurant I can assume that this is not the best choice to taste Lebanese cuisine. To add, the portion is small and overpriced.
For wine tasting, we tried bretêches red, white and rosé, Lacrima d'oro was a great wine as well.
To summarize the experience, try the wine tasting and a walk through the vineyards. For food, plan a lunch in other places.
