The grounds were well maintained. The plaques in the monument area were very educational on a segment of Texas history. The Kreische house was very interesting from the outside. Would have liked to see the interior but tours were not available on that weekday.

If you can go in the afternoon the tours are your best bet. Very informative and worth the stop. It would be a beautiful place for a picnic. It's free And It's dog friendly!

Nice park and helpful staff. The monument is very pretty and the brewery is pretty neat, although I wish you could get closer. An interesting way to spend an hour or two and the grounds are very peaceful.

Friendly staff at the museum offering advice and insight. Enjoyed reading the historical plaques and reading the names of those who died for their cause, often unjustly. Great view over the Colorado River valley below and a good walking trail system.

I want to bring my phone on the trek as it's the best camera I have (plus it can take slo-mo video). Is it possible for me to bring it in my pocket, or do I need a dedicated lanyard?
