If you love old historical buildings this is a place to see. Sunken courtyard with a fountain. Beautiful wood work and architecture. Old wooden staircases. Upstairs you can look down on the courtyard. Just beautiful.

Stopped in the town square to look at the local shops but the area is really dominated by the County Courthouse in the middle of the square. Its a very impressive building a worth some time to admire.

The courthouse is lovely and architecturally interesting. You can wander around freely and imagine life in earlier times.

The county clerk staff that handles walk-in passport applications are great: efficient, friendly, and knowledgable. Once you are done, take a few minutes to relax in their atriun with a wonderful fountian.

What a fabulous old piece of Fayette County history. The building is amazing and has definitely withstood the test of time as well as the weather and elements. It is a Fayette County treasure. Too bad she can’t talk!!

One of the very few Texas courthouses with an atrium inside. Over 100 years old and still functioning. Make sure to go inside the courtroom as it is very nice as well.
