Reasonable pleasant space and vintages. Nice selection of ;live music and arts events, especially during the First Friday Art Trail.

A few years ago McPherson won Grand Champion at Pacific Rim with a $14 albariño. Their wines are straightforward and easy to drink, and unlike comparable West Coast wines, well-priced. I'm a bit concerned that McPherson and others, like so many wineries nationwide, are less about the wine as they are the venue. So many try to be all about... More

We were really looking forward to doing a wine tasting at McPherson, since it had been several years since we had gotten over to Lubbock. Our expectations were big bold reds, leaving with a case of wine and tring some newer vintages than what we could pick up at HEB or the like. In all fairness, maybe the days selection... More

The first waitress that addressed us was a little curt/short, but we walked up to the bar and it was a much better experience. (We cannot recall her name, but long blonde/red hair and going to law school - friendly and knows her stuff.) We enjoyed the five different wines in the flight - not sweet, and not too dry.... More

Stopped in here to try some of the wines!! Fantastic- Mr. McPherson is a Legend in Texas as is his Father Dr. McPherson!! Some of the best wine you will sample anywhere-- and the building is amazing as well, was once an abandoned bottling plant that was condemned-- renovated into this spectacular little wine making place of awesomeness!! If you... More

McPherson in the only winery located in the downtown Lubbock area. It is a lovely venue and they host several events each year, including the High Plains Grape Growers tasting event. They have a lovely patio area and host live music there. They also have daily tastings. It would be a great place to host a wedding reception.

We saw a billboard off of the highway and needed to get out of the car for a bit, so we stopped in for a tasting. 5 very smooth wines with varying grapes and tastes were provided for $7. The server was super friendly and descriptive.

Over the past few years McPherson Cellars has become one of my favorite hangouts. I got married in their event space in 2014 and was treated like a queen. The service is always spectacular and the staff treats you like family. Collin, Emily, Maranda, Spencer and Thomas have become friends and found a very special place in my heart.
