A great way to take a walk and see some of the natural vegetation in McAllen! I was happy that the trails were opened on a Sunday morning!

This is a nice place to stop by if you are in the area. We can see that they are working on the park. Pathways are wide. Hopefully while they are working on updating the area, signage and plant labels are in the works? We...More

Great place to bird, walk and just enjoy nature. Nice easy trails to walk on. On a nice day, great to bring a picnic and a book and enjoy the park. Spend an hour or all day!

The walking trails are easy to navigate and the signage and bronze statues of animals are very nice. The sounds of the birds were great and lots of people taking photographs. The house, Quinta Mazatlan, is an historic adobe house built in the 1930's with...More

Maintained well, Tiffany the manager- good standards in managing. Nice for a walk or short distance run. Not big enough for long distance runner. Beautiful place. They have free events like Tai Chi and Yoga! Take advantage of it! :)

I have been to this Nature Center twice. Neither time did I have time to finish all the trails, etc. It is too hot in TX unless you do early or late in day. Worthwhile for great walking but on gravel and dirt paths.

Great place that has conserved Texas wildlife, habitat, and teaching. It always looked to me like a great site for a wedding under big Texas oak trees. Simple and peaceful. Good paths to stroll on.

It was over 100 degrees when I visited the Nature Center. Nevertheless, the trails offered enough shade to help shelter me from the sun. Mostly thorn scrub dry land birds present. The permanent restroom facility is adequate. Trails are well-maintained, although the map available at...More

Located in the center of the city, it can appropriately be considered the heart of the city. This is, in my opinion, the best public place to connect with nature in McAllen. The forest trails are not huge but still hold there own and sustain...More
