Located in the McKinney town square, it used to be the court house. It now serves as the meeting point for plays, concerts and social events. While the seating is limited, and is still the old chairs from days gone by, it is a great...More

Have only gone there once. Seating was very uncomfortable. You could "rent" a cushion - they obviously know it is uncomfortable. Should have installed better seating rather than keeping the "vintage" courthouse seats. Acoustics was horrible. Why would you have a preforming arts center with...More

Hello Julie, We are sorry to hear that your recent visit to MPAC was not a comfortable and pleasurable experience. I'm happy to report that in November of 2016, MPAC's renown Courtroom Theater received 188 brand new, plush cushions for our original courtroom seats. This,...More

I brought my children to see MPAC's production of "Peter Pan". I wasn't sure what to expect, as we've never been to the courthouse theater; however, we were not disappointed! We arrived juat after 7pm for a 7:30 show. We waited in a short line...More

The city of McKinney has done a marvelous job of keeping the historic structure but creatively re-thinking how to use this marvelous building. It is a great gift to the citizens and used many ways during the holidays!

They have done a great job of repurposing this old courthouse. It sits in the middle of the downtown square surrounded by things to do and places to eat or get a drink. We were in the Courtroom Theatre to see Aaron Neville. It is...More

The courthouse anchors the square where we visited for the shopping and restaurants. There is some interesting history there that was uncovered during renovations. They also have public restrooms available.

What a great building! As far as historic Texas Courthouses go, this one is unique in its Art Deco styling and beautiful restoration/maintenance. It really seems like the heart of the town, just like it was meant to be when it was built. It's a...More

The old courthouse on the square in downtown McKinney is now part of a museum and also an entertainment venue. Movies, dances, plays, weddings, and so much more take place in this wonderful building.
