Worst experience ever at golf facility in 30 years. Extremely unorganized and poor procedures for running tee times and very poor cordial practice by starter. Not enough carts to efficiently fulfill their clientele. Many single riders in carts preventing tee times to run smoothly. Their system for gaining access to available carts is unbelievable. If it is YOUR TEE TIME, with no carts available you must wait incredibly delays (40+ minutes) until the next cart is available. BUT, people with tee times scheduled later than yours THAT HAVE CARTS, you’ll be told by the Starter, “they have carts because they were here before you! So you’ll have to wait until some more carts come!” No way to run a business. Besides that they charge FULL PRICE (18 holes + cart fees) for the possible opportunity to get maybe four to five holes due to the sun setting at 6:12 PM. Made tee time with hopes of playing 9 holes before sunset but with their incompetence I wouldn’t even tee off until after 4:00 PM.

The fairways are pretty and wide enough for a duffer. With some challenging hazards this course is inexpensive and wonderful. The gps screen lets you know the exact distance-which is a whole lot better than looking for sprinkler heads. One of the best looking golf courses In Dallas- especially for $33.

I have been going to this course for about 15 years. On my last visit I was teaching my wife how to play. He hit the driving range and then the putting green. There are two putting greens but one did not have holes cut so we went to the second. We were rudely told (yelled by a staff member who was 30 yards away) we could not putt because it was for chipping. The staff member was unaware the other green had no holes. He tried to play it off like he was worried we could get hit by a ball. SO, if i was chipping instead of putting would my chances of getting hit by a ball decrease??? What a Moron!

Response from Oak H, General Manager at Oak Hollow Golf Course

Hi Sir, I'm sorry to hear that you had a poor experience at our course. We do our best to communicate info to our staff, but in this case our staff member was not aware of the putting green closing. With that said, any approach by our staff should be cordial and professional. I apologize on behalf of my staff. I am a strong advocate for women's golf and growing the game. This experience did not reflect that. If you wouldn't mind, I would like to extend another opportunity for the both of you to come back out and play a round of golf at no charge. I enjoy tough golf courses, and Oak Hollow is ....not one of those, but there are a few holes that are very challenging none-the-less. Of course, if you golf, you know, every SHOT is challenging but I will say that I enjoy playing Oak Hollow, especially to get away from the hustle of some of the larger, and more expensive, courses. If I had to choose a course, and I do, the Courses at Watters Creek is fantastic. But for us little country people North of McKinney, this will do just fine.

Recently played this course twice in the 2017 season, and the greens which used to be near perfect are now pure mud. Love the layout of this course, especially the par 4 8th hole, the hardest par 4 outside St. Andrew's 17th I've ever played. But the disease that has consumed these greens is unfortunate.

Hi, I wanted to take a moment to respond to your review. 2017 Spring gave us some very unfavorable weather. The condition of our greens have since fully recovered and are in excellent shape. Multiple other golf courses experienced the same issue during this time frame. I would like extend an invite (on me) back to the course if you would like to give us another shot. I can assure you that your experience here will be much better this time. Steven Clayton, PGA General Manager
